What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Jack/Sawyer. I get it in theory, in that they’re opposing points of a love triangle, but the dynamic between them really doesn’t work for me. I remember earlyish in the Lost fandom when there was a lot of Jack/Sawyer around that I’d try reading all of the beautifully written fic that was being produced and then feeling like I was totally missing some vital spark that everyone else was seeing. D:
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?
The Lost fandom was so varied ship-wise that I think, out of our wee clique, it would be difficult to find more than a couple of people with the same OTP. I will say that I preferred Juliet and Sawyer as friends rather than as a romantic relationship, as I think they have a great bickering dynamic as friends but I can’t see it translating into romance.
Any fandoms that don’t appeal to you?
Oh, Supernatural and Teen Wolf are the first two that come to mind. I’ve watched quite a bit of both shows and cannot feel the appeal.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Why?
I unfollow people quite regularly, actually. I don’t think of it as an especially big deal, although that’s probably because I’m not very social with people very often on Tumblr! It tends to be if they’re only posting things that don’t interest me, although I’ve been known to unfollow people if they were being obnoxiously tumblr-social-justice-y a lot.
Do you have a NoTP in [insert fandom here]?
I think of a NoTP as something that produces really negative feelings as opposed to ‘eh, not my thing’ feelings. I’m pretty ship-and-let-ship so it’s difficult to think of that for anyone! Outside of Lost, the Doctor/Rose produces instant back-button feelings in me, as does Tony/Bruce from the Avengers.
